Controversy reignites in the dining hall as Pineapple is once again excluded from the semesterly Pizza Party. Some students call it a matter of taste, others cry fruit discrimination.

n a move that has split the student body, Pineapple was once again denied entry to the semester’s Pizza Party hosted by the Dining Services Committee on Friday night.

The decision, confirmed by event organizers, follows a longstanding debate about whether fruit should belong on pizza—a culinary controversy that has rippled through campuses worldwide.

“This isn’t about Pineapple personally,” said senior Tomato Marinara, president of the Student Pizza Council. “It’s about tradition. Pizza has a certain… integrity. Once you open the door to Pineapple, what’s next? Kiwi? Dragonfruit? It’s a slippery slope.”

Supporters of Pineapple, however, see the exclusion as unfair. “It’s 2025, and we’re still gatekeeping toppings?” asked sophomore Olive Branch, wearing a ‘Justice for Pineapple’ t-shirt. “Pizza is about creativity, community, and choice. Pineapple deserves a seat at the table—or at least a spot on the slice.”

Pineapple itself declined to comment but was seen outside the party holding a protest sign reading: “Sweet + Savory Forever.”

For now, the future of fruit on pizza remains uncertain, though whispers of a “Rogue Pizza Night” are circulating among students. Rumors suggest Pineapple, Jalapeño, and even controversial topping Anchovy may be planning their own underground event.
